3 recipes of fritters: how to make them at home

The fritters are traditional sweets on Easter dates. These sweets are made with a flour dough and then fried, although there are also recipes for making them in the oven.

  • 125 ml. of whole milk or skimmed milk.

  • 50 grams of white sugar
  • The grated skin of a lemon or orange.
  • A pinch of salt.
  • Sunflower or olive oil with a mild flavor for frying.
  • Sugar glas to sprinkle and decorate the fritters.

Elaboration:

In a saucepan or warmer put the water to heat along with milk, salt, sugar, butter and grated lemon peel or orange.

Once it is hot add the sieved flour and mix well to form the dough, stir until the dough is released from the walls of the heater.

Remove from heat and let cool. When it is already cold add to the dough the beaten eggs, mixing well. Let the dough rest in the fridge for about 2 hours.

We remove the dough from the refrigerator and reserve to go heating the oil. Put the oil in a pan to heat with medium heat.

When the oil is well heated with the help of two spoons, we take a small pile of dough and shape the donut into a ball and fry.

We do the same until the dough is finished and fry all the fritters with moderate fire browning on both sides. We cover a tray with napkin or absorbent paper to put the fritters and drain the oil.

Let cool and at the time of presentation we sprinkle with icing sugar.

Another traditional recipe for fritters

We offer you this time another variant to make fritters at home, starting from another recipe that is as traditional but different from the one indicated above. Do you dare to prepare them ?.

Ingredients:

  • 180 g. of water
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of olive oil
  • 5 eggs
  • Icing sugar
  • Sunflower oil

Preparation of the fritters of wind:

Add half a cup of oil and water, and heat it. When it begins to boil, add the flour little by little, stirring continuously so that lumps do not form.

Remove from heat and add eggs one by one, without beating. However, keep in mind that you should not add the second egg without the pasta absorbing the first one.

Pumpkin Fritters

The pumpkin fritters are very easy to prepare and very tasty. They are elaborated adding to the flour a little pumpkin, which will make the fritters have even a much smoother and characteristic flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of simple wheat flour.
  • 250 grams of pumpkin.
  • 20 grams of baker's yeast.
  • 60 grams of white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 ml. From mineral water.
  • The scratch of an orange peel.
  • A pinch of salt.
  • Sugar glas to sprinkle or sugar blanquilla.
  • Sunflower or virgin olive oil, mild flavor for frying fritters.

Elaboration:

We remove the skin from the pumpkin, wash it and split it into two or three pieces. We put the pumpkin to cook in a cauldron with a little water that only covers it and a little salt. When it is tender we extinguish the fire and drain the water. We crush the pumpkin with the blender.

We sift the flour, put it in a bowl. Add the well-beaten eggs, the sugar, the grated skin of the orange, the water and make the dough.

When the dough has the right consistency add the crushed pumpkin, a pinch of salt, and knead all together, until the dough is not sticky.

Cover the dough with transparent film and let it rest for half an hour. With the help of two spoons of dessert we are forming the donuts in the shape of balls.

In a pan put the oil to heat with moderate heat. Once it is hot, we fry the donuts and brown them on both sides.

We put absorbent paper or napkin on a plate to put the fritters fried in it and to drain the surplus oil.

We let cool the fritters and once cold we can present them sprinkled with icing sugar or floated impregnated in white or granulated sugar.

Fritters stuffed with custard

The fritters stuffed with custard They are very easy to prepare and they are very rich. To fill them we can make a homemade vanilla custard that we would leave quite thick or resort to industrial custards already made.   • 4 eggs
  • The skin of a lemon.
  • Anise or matalahúva grains, a teaspoon.
  • Sunflower oil or soft virgin olive oil to fry the fritters.
  • Sugar glas to sprinkle.
  • Vanilla custard to fill the donuts.

Elaboration:

In a saucepan or warmer put the milk to heat the fire with the granites of anise and the skin of the lemon.

We heat until the milk boils and once it starts to boil we turn off the fire.

We pass the milk to a bowl, and we are adding the sifted flour.

Let's make a dough and add the well-beaten eggs.

Continue kneading until the dough is not sticky.

Put the oil in a pan and heat the fire with moderate heat.

With the help of two spoons of dessert we are forming the donuts in the form of balls.

When the oil is hot we fry the donuts by browning them on both sides.

We are depositing fried fritters on a plate covered with absorbent paper to drain the oil.

Let the fritters cool.

When the fritters are cold we open them in the center to fill them with a little thick custard.
