How to make quinoa milk

Did you know that, in reality, the quinoa it is not a cereal although it is habitual and common that we create it? In fact, it is similar to what we could understand as a cereal when it resembles its nutritional composition and use of this type of food, but originally belongs to the family of spinach.

From a nutritional point of view, it is a food that stands out for its high protein value, being ideal in balanced diets and those rich in proteins of both plant and animal origin.

On the other hand, they also provide vitamins C, E and group B, as well as an extremely interesting amount of dietary fiber, ideal precisely against constipation.

Although it tends not to be as common as other well-known varieties such as for example rice milk or almond milk, it is also possible to make a delicious vegetable drink from quinoa. We explain how.

  • 2 tablespoons of quinoa
  • 1 and a half cups of water

Preparation of quinoa milk

  1. In a saucepan or bowl soak quinoa grains for 2 hours.
  2. After this time put them in a saucepan and let them boil.
  3. When it starts to boil, lower the heat, cooking on a low heat for a few minutes.
  4. Strain or filter and sweeten if desired.
