To make your own saline solution at home ideal for nasal washes you only need 1 glass of water, 1 pinch of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt without iodine (this is very important, since iodine tends to produce irritation if used by long periods of time).

The process is very simple: you just have to add the water in a small glass and heat it a little. Then let it cool until it is lukewarm. Now add the salt without iodine and sodium bicarbonate, and mix well with the help of a spoon.

Ready! You just have to put this saline solution on a knob and perform the nasal wash as you usually do. Of course, if you have a lot of nasal congestion you can use the entire solution you just prepared.

And, in case you overdo it, the ideal thing is to remove it and when you go to go back to do a new nasal wash prepare it again.

And how to perform nasal lavage? It's very simple: wash your hands and tip your head down on the sink. Insert the knob on one side of the nose, and with your fingers, tighten the other side of the nose (this way you will prevent the solution from coming off). Gently press the knob now.
