How to measure the pH of our body

The pH is a value used with the objective of measuring the alkalinity or acidity of a certain substance, indicating the percentage of hydrogen found in it, measuring the amount of acid ions (H +). The pH scale varies from 0 to 14, so it is usually considered 7 as a neutral pH value, when it falls from this amount it is an acidic pH and when it increases an alkaline pH is considered.

With regard to the Blood pH, its proper balance is fundamental for our life, given that an abnormal value can generate an excess of acidity, which in turn translates into a greater predisposition to suffer cancer, suffer more diseases, decrease the ability of our body to produce energy in the cells and repair those damaged, as well as for the proper absorption of essential nutrients, as for example is the case of minerals.

Regarding the values considered optimal, we must bear in mind that the pH of our blood should be slightly alkaline, which does mean that the optimal pH of human blood should range between 7.35 and 7.45. However, a pH of 7 would be considered as neutral. We must also know that depending on certain secretions or substances we will find different pH values. Thus, for example, while that of urine is usually a pH between 6 and 7, that of gastric juices 1.5, at the same time that of sweat is 5.5 and that of vaginal discharge approximately 4. ,5.

How to do the test to measure our pH

If you want to find out what is the pH value that your body presents, what would allow you to know the state of alkalinity or the state of acidity of your organism you only need some reactive strips in the pharmacy, which have different colors that vary depending on the alkalinity that the test presents.

To perform the analysis you just have to introduce the test strip into the urine first thing in the morning, and wait for the results. However, for the analysis and the result to be the most stable and adequate, it is advisable to perform at least 3 tests: one in the morning in the morning, the next before lunch, and the last before dinner.

On the other hand, in case you do not want to perform this test at home, remember that every time you perform a blood test and routine urine analysis these two pH values are analyzed, so a good way to have controlled and discover these figures is to perform a blood and urine test every so often. Many doctors recommend in this sense to have at least one blood and urine test every year, as long as there is no disease or health disorder that recommends performing more regular tests.
