How to make a roscón de Reyes easy and simple

Ingredients:

  • One kilo of simple wheat flour.
  • 30 grams of fresh baking yeast.

  • 6 rather large eggs.
  • 4 tablespoons of orange blossom water.
  • The skin of a grated orange.
  • The grated skin of a lemon.
  • 250 grams of sugar.
  • 300 grams of butter.

  • Candied orange.
  • Red candied cherries.
  • A beaten egg (to brush and shine)
  • 250 gr. of rolled almonds.

preparation:

In a bowl or glass bowl we put the flour, the yeast, the orange blossom water, the lemon zest and the orange.

When the dough has a compact texture, without lumps, we form a ball.

Then moisten a cloth with water to wrap the ball of dough.

We reserve the dough ball in the fridge for five hours to make it mild.

We preheat the oven to a temperature of 220º C, during 15 minutes.

Once the oven has been preheated, introduce the roscón and cook it at a temperature of 120ºC and for 40 minutes.

Carefully remove the roscón from the oven and let it cool.
