Kiwi and pineapple tartare: a different recipe

Do you dare to make this delicious tartar? Do you know what a great dessert full of vitamin C? Surely you have seen the typical recipe for tartare with raw and minced meat of sirloin, egg, lemon juice, pepper ... But would you dare with a special and different recipe ?.

First of all we will know a little what it is, where it comes from and then we will understand that you can make other recipes with different ingredients but the same form and essence.

What is the tartar and what is its origin?

It is a preparation that can be finely chopped raw meat or fish, which can be accompanied with some condiments or sauces. We can find examples such as beef tartare, venison tartar, salmon tartar or tuna tartare. This dish is very popular in Poland.

It is a dish in which the taste and texture of marinated meat is appreciated in all its splendor.

There are some theories about its origin, the most widespread is attributed to the creation of Mongolian riders while on the other hand it is assured that it comes from the islands of French Polynesia.

The first theory states that it begins as a way of feeding in the hard Asian steppes. The horsemen belonging to a tribe of Mongolia deposited meat under the saddle of their horse to soften it and eat it. It is believed that the sweating of the animal spoiled the meat. It is believed that this method was used to heal the sores of horses caused by saddles.

The second theory considers that it is imported from French Polynesia where the consumption of raw meat was normal. This dish begins to appear in hotels and restaurants in the area in the twentieth century.

Recipe of kiwi and pineapple tartare

But can you make a tartar with fruit and a dessert? Today in NatureVia we present this delicious recipe. We will only need 20 minutes of our time.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Files.
  • Mint leaves.
  • Hazelnut oil
  • 4 kiwis that are well ripe.
  • Approximately ½ of pineapple.
  • 50 grams of hazelnuts.

This tartar is a good cocktail of fruits and vitamins. Especially, vitamin C, thanks to the contribution of kiwi, pineapple and lime. It works as a powerful antioxidant and stimulates the defenses.

Preparation of kiwi and pineapple tartar:

First, a good way to start is by peeling our ripe kiwis and also the pineapple. Care when peeling the pineapple, we can hurt ourselves.

Once the fruit is peeled, we chop it into small cubes. Peel the limes, remove the seeds and cut them into cubes.

We will brown the hazelnuts in a pan, taking care not to burn. We will roll them in a napkin or cloth to rub them with each other and lose maximum skin.

We will wash the mint very well, we will remove it by choosing the best leaves and drying them well. Beat together: hazelnuts, mint leaves and hazelnut oil.

Mix all the ingredients well in a bowl and then fill the tartar mold that can be a round pastry ring. We will keep it in the fridge until the moment of serving the dessert and we will add the lime crust over it when we go to serve. ThemesFruit recipes
