Recipes with tempeh

Whether you follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, as if you simply love healthy food and follow a healthy and natural diet (and if not, I advise you to take it as your health and your own body will thank you) There is no doubt about the importance of choosing foods rich in amino acids, vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients.

An example is the tempeh, a delicious food that is the result of controlled fermentation by cooking soy beans with a Rhizopus fungus. It is originally from Indonesia, where it is usually consumed for many centuries.

The truth is that it is a food that in addition to being versatile in the kitchen is extremely beneficial from a nutritional point of view. For example, it is very rich in proteins and also provides all the essential amino acids, which makes it an ideal alternative to foods of animal origin. In fact, 100 grams of tempeh contribute about 40% of the proteins we need each day.

If you have already tried the tempeh and you love it, or if you even want to encourage it to taste it and make it at home, here are some suggestions delicious recipes with tempeh.

Tempeh Tempura

What do you need?

  • 1 package of tempeh (smoked)
  • Olive oil
  • 1 cup of white flour
  • Water with gas (cold)
  • Fresh aromatic herbs
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preparation of tempeh tempura

  1. In a bowl mix the flour, the fresh aromatic herbs that you like and the salt.
  2. Add cold water with gas little by little, mixing until the mixture gets thick but liquid consistency.
  3. Reserve in the fridge for 45 minutes.
  4. Then cut the smoked tempeh into strips.
  5. Put olive oil in a pan.
  6. Spend the tempeh for the pasta that we have done before and brown in the pan on both sides.

Stew of tempeh

What do you need?

  • 250 gr. of tempeh (one block)
  • 450 gr. of mushrooms
  • 4 carrots
  • 8 leaves of lettuce
  • Modena balsamic vinegar cream
  • Soy sauce
  • Fresh aromatic herbs

Preparation of tempeh stew

  1. In a pan put a little olive oil on the fire.
  2. While washing the mushrooms, cut them into slices.
  3. When the oil is hot add the mushrooms and put over medium heat, until golden brown.
  4. While the mushrooms cut the tempeh into slices.
  5. In another frying pan the tempeh goes to the griddle. Add a little soy sauce and let it aromatize.
  6. Wash the lettuces, drain them. Do the same with the carrots, but then peel them and cut them.
  7. Put the lettuces on the plate, add the mushrooms, the tempeh and the carrots.
  8. Finally season with a bit of modena balsamic vinegar cream.

Tempeh sauteed with vegetables

What do you need?

  • 250 gr. of tempeh (one block)
  • Green asparagus
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Soy sauce
  • Olive oil

Preparation of sautéed tempeh with vegetables

  1. Wash the green asparagus, and cut them.
  2. In a pan add some oil and sauté the tempeh cut into pieces.
  3. When the tempeh is golden, add the asparagus and broccoli.
  4. Meanwhile, wash the carrots and peel them.
  5. When the asparagus and broccoli are done, put the carrot, and add a splash of soy sauce.
