Sweet potato and cinnamon cake

The sweet potato and cinnamon cake is a traditional recipe of a lifetime, which in fact combines two classic ingredients by nature: sweet potatoes on one side, and cinnamon on the other. In fact, cinnamon gives this sweet a really wonderful aromatic flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg. of sweet potatoes
  • 1 glass of flour
  • 1 glass of milk
  • 2 sugar glasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon + ground cinnamon to sprinkle
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Preparation of sweet potato and cinnamon cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180º C.
  2. First cut the sweet potatoes with the help of a knife, cutting them into slices. Put water in a saucepan and cook the sweet potatoes in the hot water until they are rather soft. Take them out of the water and let them rest. When they are cold remove the skin.
  3. Now it's time to crush them. Put the peeled sweet potatoes, the flour, the milk and the sugar in the food processor. Grind everything well, until all the ingredients are well integrated, including the teaspoon of cinnamon. If you do not have a kitchen robot you can crush or scale them with the help of a fork, and then mix all the ingredients little by little.
  4. Grease a round mold with the butter, and then pour the mixture of the sweet potato purée.
  5. Bake at 180º C for about an hour. However, depending on your oven, it may be ready sooner. To check it, you only have to puncture it, until the fork or wooden stick comes out clean.
  6. Once cooked remove from the oven and let it cool. Then reserve in the fridge, and when it is cold, carefully remove it.
  7. To finish, sprinkle ground cinnamon taste above. Ready! Let's enjoy it.

For those who like sweet potatoes because of their taste and texture, but do not tend to be so sweet, there are also different options to enjoy a sweet potato pie. We propose in this case the following delicious recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 250 gr. of sweet potato
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 ml. of cream for cooking
  • Cheese to gratinate
  • Ground black pepper
  • Salt
  • Butter (for the mold)

Preparation of salted sweet potato cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190º C. Cut the sweet potatoes into slices, put water in a saucepan and cook the sweet potatoes in hot water until they are tender. Then remove the water and leave them at rest, so that when they are cold you can better remove the skin.
  2. Put the peeled sweet potatoes in a large bowl and knead them with the help of a fork. Now add the eggs, the cream, the ground black pepper to taste and the salt. Mix everything well until all the ingredients are integrated perfectly.
  3. Line a mold with vegetable parchment paper and grease the paper a bit with butter so that the cake comes out better when unmolding it. Pour the mixture of sweet potato and kitchen at 190ºC for about 20 minutes, or until you see that it has set.
  4. Then remove from the oven and immediately pour over cheese to gratin. Let it cool. To finish, once cold, unmold it.
