Water kefir recipe to do at home

Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons of hydrated kefir nodules.
  • 60 gr. of whole sugar cane or panela.
  • 2 dates or a handful of raisins.
  • Half lemon.
  • 1 liter of water.

You also need a glass container, a canvas or cloth and an elastic band.

Preparation of water kefir:

  1. First steps. Put the water in the glass container. Then part the lemon and add it, along with the noodles of water kefir, raisins (or dates) and whole sugar or brown sugar.
  2. Cover it with a cloth or cloth and then with an elastic band. Carefully shake it well so that the ingredients are mixed properly
  3. Leave it at room temperature for 2 or 3 days. That way we'll get it to ferment.
  4. After this time the kefir will have fermented.
  5. Remove dates or raisins. Strain the kefir and reserve the nodules.
  6. Wash the nodules and the container. You will be able to use them again.

How to preserve water kefir:

To preserve water kefir, it is best to store it in a glass bottle covered with a cork. On the other hand, if for a few days you do not want to make more kefir, you can reserve kefir nodules in a pot with water and sugar.

How to drink water kefir:

The ideal is to consume it both on an empty stomach and before meals; in this way we will be able to assimilate it much better.However, if you do not like or can not stand consuming carbon dioxide, you can serve it in a glass and stir the liquid well for a few seconds.

How to reactivate water kefir nodules ?:

Reactivating the kefir nodules of water is very useful for when you want to prepare more kefir. For this, you just have to wash them well and follow the normal process of elaboration that we have mentioned in the previous lines.

But if you're not going to make kefir again in a few days you can freeze them, and reuse them again when you want.
