Or they can remain there indefinitely. Be that as it may, along with the dark circles, the bags that tend to appear under the eyes give our face and look a tired look and a sad look, even though we do not even physically feel that way.

As you surely know, the bags that appear under the eyes are characterized by a swelling that is located in the lower eyelid, so that although they bear a certain relationship with dark circles, in reality they tend to be placed under the eyes. The reason why they appear can be very varied, although it is common that when we are tired or sick the different capillaries that nourish both our eye and the adjacent areas tend to dilate, becoming in fact a natural response of our body to certain situations of stress. These substances circulate through these dilated blood vessels, so that, as a result, a swelling appears that manifests as a bag under the eyes.

What are your causes?

Although there is, as we indicated previously, a common factor that causes the appearance of bags under the eyes, in reality its causes can be very varied:

  • Fatigue and lack of sleep: since our circulatory system moves more slowly while we sleep, when we do not rest well we do not give time for it to let out the excess liquid that is under the eyes. The result is the accumulation of fluid in this area.
  • Fluid retention: it is one of the most common causes. The fluid accumulates under the eyes, either due to hormonal problems, excessive tobacco or alcohol, or lack of sleep.
  • Lack of hydration: Drinking little amount of fluids per day influences the appearance of the bags under the eyes.
  • Unbalanced diet: for example, to follow an inadequate diet with excessive consumption of salt, which in turn favors the retention of liquids.
  • The Heritage: hereditary factors in turn influence the appearance of bags under the eyes.
