How to make a dandelion infusion

Probably you have already seen it in gardens or while doing a walk in the bank. In fact, it becomes one of the plants of choice for the smallest, precisely because its stems when blown loose a species of fluffy white strands that feel to fly away with the wind. We are talking to you, indeed, about dandelion. It is a plant known scientifically with the name of Taraxacum officinale, and popularly with the names of bitter chicory or meacamas. It belongs to the asteraceae family, and is traditionally considered a "weed".

Regarding its different and different physical characteristics, it is a perennial plant with a long root that usually reaches 35 centimeters in height. Its leaves are alternate, lanceolate, with easily recognizable golden yellow flowers and stems that, as indicated above, tend to fly when blown or when the wind blows them.

We could say that the dandelion is one of the most popular and popular medicinal plants, mainly for its purifying and diuretic qualities, being ideal when it comes to eliminating the toxins accumulated in our body. It is interesting to purify the liver, helping in certain liver disorders such as lazy liver and fatty liver. It is also beneficial when it comes to purifying the kidneys, since it improves kidney function and helps when it comes to eliminating fluids and avoiding retention.

Ingredients, what do you need to make the dandelion infusion?

  • 1 tablespoon of dandelion (fresh or dried)
  • 1 cup of water

Steps to prepare the infusion of dandelion

  1. Boil the equivalent of a cup of water in a saucepan.
  2. When the water reaches the boiling point add the dandelion.
  3. Leave on fire for 3 minutes.
  4. After this time turn off the heat, cover and let stand 5 minutes.
  5. Finally strain, sweeten to taste if you wish, and drink.

You can take this infusion 3 times a day, preferably before meals (it is best to have it half an hour before meals).
