Christmas pie of plum jam. Christmas recipe

Who does not like these Christmas days culminate a breakfast or a snack with a totally homemade sweet made at home by ourselves and taste it in the company of family and friends.

Sweets we see in these dates everywhere but where there is a home-made sweet, the truth that you can tell the difference. Although of course, everything depends on the time we have, because these days we almost always walk in a hurry to be able to cover everything, it also depends on whether we like to cook or not.

The Christmas Cakethat we present in this post is an exquisite cake and very easy to prepare, in a short time we have it ready to taste it. It is made with broken dough, and a filling of jam, the jam that we like the most and is decorated with Christmas figurines made with the same dough.

The cake that you can see in the photograph has been made with a plum jam and it is very rich, although as we have said before, the jam will be to everyone's taste.

It is an ideal cake for the little ones of the house especially for the Christmas touch that the figurines give him although I must say that among the adults he also triumphs.

In addition to preparing it with jam, this cake can also be made with a homemade cocoa cream that we can prepare ourselves with chocolate or with industrially prepared cocoa butter, such as Nutella cream or another brand that you know or prefer (although we do we propose our homemade Nutella recipe).

Christmas cake recipe with plum jam

Ingredients for the broken dough:

  • 200 grams of simple sifted wheat flour.
  • 100 grams of butter in tacos, softened at room temperature.
  • Egg.
  • 100 grams of icing sugar
  • A pinch of salt.
  • Plum jam for the filling.

Preparation of the Christmas cake:

  1. In a bowl we put the sifted flour. Cut the butter that should be soft in tacos, and put them around the flour.
  2. Knead to mix well the flour and butter until it is as gritty. Next we add the egg, the icing sugar and the pinch of salt.
  3. We return to knead but not in excess, just so that everything is well linked or mixed.
  4. We form a ball with the dough and we cover it with film or plastic. We keep the dough in the fridge for one hour.
  5. We are preheating the oven with a temperature of 180 º C. On a floured surface we extend the dough with a rolling pin.
  6. We reserve a bit of the extended mass to make the figurines. Place the dough on the mold and put the oven paper on the dough.
  7. On the baking paper we put some chickpeas in the center to prevent the dough from rising while it is cooking.
  8. With the little dough reserved for the figurines we will form the figures with cookie molds with Christmas motifs.
  9. We cook for 10 minutes with the oven at 180ºC, the dough and the figurines.
  10. We extract the cake from the oven and we put the stuffed plum jam, and the Christmas figurines scattered on top.
  11. We return to bake for 10 more minutes with the same temperature. When the golden figures are, we take out the pie from the oven.
  12. Let cool to room temperature and once it is cold we will demold it. We present the Christmas cake in a nice tray to take it to the table.

Well, we have our Christmas cake ready, we hope you like it and that everyone likes it.

This cake is ideal to enjoy it at breakfast, snacks, accompanied by a cup of coffee, a tea or a cup of hot chocolate.
