How to make a pizza dough easily and in a few minutes
Who does not like the Pizza? It is an internationally recognized dish, well known in practically the entire world. Although its origin is directly associated with Italian cuisine (in a country where in fact it is a tremendously common and popular dish), the truth is that it is not really so clear.
In ancient Greece, for example, what was then known as plakuntos, which consisted of a kind of flat bread that was served decorated with herbs, spices, onions and garlic.
What's more, loaves have been extracted from the ruins of Pompeii, where there are cuts of portions that remind us a lot of the cuts that are made today on modern pizzas.
Be that as it may, a wide variety of authors point to Naples (in Italy) as the cradle of pizza, since it appears as a popular dish among its citizens back in the seventeenth century, who made a kind of bread large and flat.
It is curious that Queen Maria Carolina, wife of Ferdinand I (1751-1825), forbade the consumption of pizza in court, while Fernando, who fascinated him, mocked the order disguising himself as a plebeian to visit secretly a neighborhood of Naples where this food was prepared.
It is believed that, in fact, its composition is not as varied as the current one. And it is the only one recognized as a Traditional Specialty Guaranteed, which consists of a denomination of origin recognized by the European Union itself.
What is pizza? What does it consist of?
As you surely know, the pizza basically consists of a flat baked bread, which is traditionally made with wheat flour, yeast, salt and water.
That in regard to the basic base, since it is very common to cover it with tomato sauce at first, and then add a wide variety of ingredients, such as: cheese, onion, olives, mushrooms, ham, tuna, prawns ...
Basic pizza dough recipe
The preparation of the base dough to make a pizza, although in reality it may seem complicated at first, is actually extremely simple. We explain what are its ingredients and the steps that you must follow to prepare it.
- 100 gr. of whole wheat flour
- 100 gr. of normal wheat flour
- 1 yeast ball (pressed)
- Black pepper (freshly ground)
- 1/2 glass of warm water
- Olive oil (to oil)
Preparation of the basic pizza dough:
First of all, with the help of a little olive oil, grease a baking sheet (or an ideal mold for pizzas). Right after, it's time to start preparing the pizza dough. Let's go to it.
Mix the two types of flour together with the yeast in a bowl or large bowl first. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
Make a hole in the center of the mixture of flours and pour the water that you should have heated a little (until it is warm). Love it well with the help of your hands until you get a firm dough.
Press the dough little by little, until you give it a circle shape. Put it on the oven tray, cover it with a plastic, and leave it in a warm place for 30 minutes until you notice that it has grown slightly. Meanwhile, heat the oven to 220º C.
Uncover the dough. List! Now you only have to add the ingredients you prefer to proceed with its preparation.
