The wonderful Hygge method: or how to be happy with simple things

It's Friday afternoon. You have just finished a hard week of work and therefore you just want to disconnect from your daily problems. The most normal thing in the world. Go for a walk with your partner, have a beer with your friends ... All these are very simple plans to make sure that more than once they have managed to give us a bit of happiness.

Well, this is the method known as " hygge", A kind of philosophy of life that had its beginnings in Denmark two centuries ago.

Since then, thousands of Danes have put it into practice during their day-to-day lives, a fact that has made them the happiest people in the world after Norwegians and Canadians. And through the following lines we will tell you how to carry it out in order to achieve almost full happiness.

Treat yourself in the form of food is not bad from time to time

It is highly recommended to have a healthy and balanced diet in all the senses in order to enjoy a better quality of life. However, this does not mean that from time to time we can practice a bit of "hygge" by giving us an occasional whim.

So sometime you can catch a simple ounce of chocolate or any candy that drives you crazy in order to give you a little tribute. Surely the body will hardly notice it.

The best thing is that you savor it slowly. Enjoy the moment while that sweet covers your entire palate. This is what is known as "slow food", a process that consists of slowly enjoying the food to go savoring happiness little by little.

Put on comfortable clothes

I have to say that this is one of the hygge moments that I appreciate the most. After a hard day's work, I just want to get home and take off my shoes.

After this, I put on just a pair of baggy pants, a T-shirt and a sweatshirt to be as comfortable as possible around my house. If I'm in winter, all this attire is accompanied by good thick socks that allow me to walk around the house without going cold.

I can admit that this situation is one of the most peace and tranquility they bring me during the day. I encourage you to put it into practice. You have to do the same if you are going to see people during the process. Remember that in the hygge method you only import to be happy.

Spend time with your favorite hobbies

As we have explained in the last paragraph, there will be times when we will need a bit of solitude to enjoy the small pleasures that life brings us. Here depends a little on the tastes and preferences of each one. Each one has very different hobbies that can range from reading a book, watching your favorite series before going to bed or playing a video game that has just come out.

We are confident that any of these practices can achieve some well-being in the short term. The interesting thing would be to carry them out in those moments where we have no more ties until the next day.

In this way, you get to enjoy any of these hobbies in a much fuller way getting a moment of the most hygge without hardly effort or money on your part. Simple, right?

Face to face is still important

We already know that social networks have been added to any area of our life. We use them to communicate with our friends and make plans with them.

Or simply to make our life a little more public. However, with the passage of time we have left aside a simple practice like chatting with someone close to us to advise us about any problem we are suffering.

Something similar happens with emotions. We keep them to create a shell of false happiness. To avoid this, the Hygge method recommends that we write down our thoughts and frustrations on paper. This way we will be able to make them much smaller and therefore it will be much easier to find a solution for them. This article is published for informational purposes only.
